Soon she learns that Anna has died. Then Kate finds out that the heir to the factory is Anna’s younger brother, Hans Wolff! Your mission now is to find him and complete the deal, which will not be an easy task! You must…” As you know, the first installment does not end the game but serves as a prelude to the second part! Syberia 2 Full Game Story:
The story continues from the death of Mrs. Anna Wolff in Syberia 1. At the beginning, you see a demo of Hans and Kate talking, where Kate promises to help Hans complete his journey. Hans feels relieved as he can finally pursue his long-awaited dream. After the demo, the train stops at the next station, Romansburg. Kate talks to Hans and sees that he is busy working. The middle part of the train resembles a mechanical workshop, bustling with activity, reflecting Hans’s spirit. When Kate visits the shop next to the station and talks to Colonel Guachev, the shop owner, he says this is the last station before the wild nature of Syberia. After preparing the train, Kate talks to Oscar and learns the train needs coal. She tries to use the coal transfer device next to the station but finds no coal to load. To get coal, Kate must go to the southern part of the town and needs to open the gate, but it is locked. She talks to the Colonel, who says the key is lost. Kate takes some candy from the shop (one of the game’s puzzles) and meets Malka, a little girl who lost her father some time ago. Before going near the gate, Kate befriends Malka, who has the keys but wants colorful candy in exchange. Kate throws the candy down to Malka under the bridge, and Malka keeps her promise by attaching the key to a balloon and releasing it. Kate catches the balloon and retrieves the key, opens the gate, and passes through. A demo shows the Marson company office and reveals the company head has sent a detective to find Kate on the orders of her mother and friends. Kate goes to the lower part of the train and checks the coal transfer device, picking up a red container, but the device needs fuel. Kate talks to Malka, who says the Borgov brothers know how the device works. Kate visits Circus Café and talks to the manager, Circus, who recognizes Hans and says Hans should fix the mechanical horses of the café’s show because they have stopped working, causing a drop in customers. Kate sneaks into the Borgov brothers’ house through the fences, opens a box in the yard, and Yuki escapes. The younger brother, Ivan, chases Yuki outside. Kate takes some fuel from the yard and talks to the older brother, Igor, but Ivan arrives and kicks Kate out. Kate puts the fuel in the device and pulls the lever, causing coal to load into the train. Kate prepares to depart and tells Oscar everything is ready, but Oscar says Hans has disappeared. Kate goes to Circus Café and finds Hans there. Hans is ill and is taken inside the train; he needs a doctor, but there is no doctor in the town. Usually, patients either recover on their own or are taken to the priest late. Kate must take Hans to the priest, and according to the rules, a special cloth must cover the patient’s face. Kate goes to the device near the bridge to get the cloth, but it requires something to open. After talking to Malka, she gives Kate a tool to open the device. Kate takes the cloth and covers Hans’s face. Kate gets a warm coat from the Colonel and wears it inside the train to cross the bridge, as the other side is very cold due to the height. Kate reaches the other side and tries to enter the monastery but is denied because she is female. To enter, Kate tricks a monk, takes his robe, and wears it to enter. After talking to the archpriest and giving him the cloth, he allows Hans in. The archpriest says there is no hope for Hans’s survival. After talking to Hans, Kate learns the only way to save him is by using methods described by Alex’s brother in his book.
Kate retrieves Alex’s book from the upper floor of the library and a hidden drawer. The method is the same used by the Yukuls, an ancient native tribe living in Syberia who coexisted with mammoths, using their meat, skin, and fat for food, warmth, and light. The method involves mixing a candle made of paraffin or mammoth fat with a special plant, placing it in a mold, and lighting it above the patient’s head. After solving many puzzles in the monastery, Kate finally achieves this goal, heals Hans, and escapes from the monastery (escaping because the archpriest is a vile man responsible for Malka’s father’s death by not treating him and spreading rumors that the illness was incurable, causing the father’s death and burial in the monastery).
After escaping the monastery, Kate goes to the town, places Hans on the train, and, as Hans says, removes the mechanical heart of the Circus Café horses and repairs them. When the horses start moving, which is one of the game’s beautiful puzzles, the ground begins to shake because the café is on a mule’s back, and the train’s movement shakes the café. Kate runs quickly toward the train but cannot catch it. When Kate contacts Oscar, she learns that Ivan and Igor have stolen the train. Kate pulls the lever next to the rails to move the device forward but lacks the strength to pull it fully. She talks to Malka and the Colonel. Malka suggests getting help from Yuki. Kate finds Yuki in Ivan and Igor’s yard but also finds a newspaper on their table revealing that the brothers stole the train to get valuable mammoth tusks and are heading toward Syberia. Kate takes some fish from the Colonel’s shop and gives it to Yuki, then ties Yuki to the rails to pull the device. When Yuki starts moving, a demo shows Kate chasing the train with the device. The train speeds up and reaches a bridge, but after two wagons pass, the bridge breaks, and the last wagon falls into the river. Kate gets off the device and continues along the river and through the snow. After crossing the river and solving beautiful puzzles, she reaches a monastery but finds a bear blocking the door, preventing her from leaving. Kate must give the fish to the bear and leave the monastery, solving another puzzle. Further ahead, she reaches an icy wall with no way around, so she climbs it. Using an axe, Kate climbs to the top of a snowy hill. There, she sees Ivan and Igor holding Hans and taking him to the train. Kate cannot follow them, so she heads to a plane crash site. There, she finds a pilot hanging from a tree, asleep and unresponsive. (If you pay attention, this pilot is Boris, whom you helped fly in Syberia 1.) To wake Boris, Kate adjusts the plane’s transmitter and receiver frequencies using a radar nearby and establishes communication with Boris’s radio. Boris wakes up and falls from the tree. You talk to him and ask for help. He suggests using the pilot’s ejector seat to be launched toward the train. Kate uses the radar to find the coordinates and is launched from the seat, landing precisely next to the train (one of the game’s puzzles requiring knowledge of coordinate calculation). Kate must reach the train but notices Yuki has found something in the snow—it is Oscar. She talks to Oscar and tells him to move. To move, they detach the last wagon that has turned under the bridge and use oil and lubrication to get the devices moving.
Now the train reaches the end of the rails—Kate and Hans arrive at the Yukul village. At the village entrance, Kate hears a sound coming from a bird’s mouth and returns to check the snowmobile. They see Igor scared by the bird’s sound. Kate tries to calm Igor by covering the bird’s mouth to silence the noise. Moving forward, Kate sees Ivan collecting mammoth tusks and trying to escape but does not leave Kate behind. A demo shows Kate escaping with Oscar’s help and being captured by the Yukuls, who then help her. After talking to the tribe chief, Kate learns Hans is sick and taken to the witch’s cabin. After solving a puzzle, Kate enters the witch’s cabin and meets her, seeing Hans hanging by ropes, asleep. The witch says Hans must be brought out of his dream, and Kate must guide him out of his sleep. To enter Hans’s dream, the witch needs a rare spring tree fruit. Kate finds this fruit after solving a puzzle inside a cave behind ice. Then she enters Hans’s dream, sees Mr. Wolff, and after solving many puzzles, wakes Hans. In the dream, Hans talks about Oscar’s heart. When Hans wakes, Kate takes Oscar to the village using a mask to avoid scaring the Yukuls and uses cables to bring the train to the end of the rails inside the village. When Kate explains Hans’s situation, Oscar agrees to sacrifice himself for his creator. Oscar then goes to the witch’s cabin, and Kate must follow. Hans needs Oscar’s metal heart to survive. After solving the heart puzzle, Hans and Oscar merge, and Hans recovers. Kate goes to the train, solves a relatively difficult puzzle to start it, and melts the surrounding ice. When Kate goes outside, she sees Hans heading toward the mammoth boat. Kate follows, frees Yuki from the stable, boards the ship with Hans and Yuki, and they leave the village, eventually reaching Penguin Island. Kate leaves the ship to solve a problem—she goes to the whale tooth wall, removes it, and frees the anchor using the tooth. But they see Ivan entering the ship! Kate uses tricks and puzzles to remove Ivan from the ship, throws him among the penguins, and escapes with the ship. The penguins tear Ivan apart due to Kate’s trick on them. After passing the Kagan mountains, Hans’s 50-year dream comes true as they reach the seemingly imaginary island of SYBERIA, a beautiful island with mild Siberian cold. Kate first goes to the watchtower and sees a person who suddenly collapses. Kate takes the Yukul medal from the person’s neck and heads to the upper corridor. After solving three puzzles—opening a door, placing and completing a medal stone, and fixing a horn shape with a key—Kate reaches the final puzzle: sounding the ancient mammoth horn. Using a panel inside the ship, she activates it and plays the correct tune. Now the mammoths approach from the end of the plain to nearby cliffs, and Hans fulfills his lifelong dream of 50 years. Hans rides a mammoth and leaves with them, and Kate…
