The story of this game is inspired by the real-life Chernobyl incident and depicts a world that has become abandoned and apocalyptic due to human mistakes and devastating wars. According to the game’s story, several years after the terrifying 1986 nuclear power plant disaster in Chernobyl, Ukraine (then part of the Soviet Union), scientists conducted secret and special experiments to prevent such tragedies in the future. However, these biological experiments not only failed to help but caused a catastrophe far worse than the Chernobyl incident! Due to calculation errors, these experiments led to an environmental disaster that contaminated thousands of kilometers around the area with radioactive materials, turning living beings, especially humans, into mutated and zombie-like creatures! Following this event, the entire region was quarantined, leading to the collapse and extinction of the Soviet state.
In Dark Zone, you play as a special agent sent to investigate the conditions of this area. After the disaster, military forces and scientists present in the region have either disappeared or turned into zombie-like creatures! There is little information available, and all the people living near this nuclear laboratory have either fled or perished. You must explore the area, find clues and evidence, and uncover the hidden terrifying story! It seems there are numerous clues scattered throughout the region, placed by scientists who realized the disaster, so you can piece together the main story by collecting all the evidence. The main character must overcome fear and stress and step into a ghostly world—a post-apocalyptic world where nothing alive remains. Throughout the game, you will explore various locations including corridors and rooms inside the power plant, experiencing a unique sense of fear. Dark Zone features excellent graphics and detailed design, closely resembling console games. The gameplay is first-person shooter (FPS), allowing you to move freely like an open-world game and shoot at enemies (zombies) by aiming at them.
