Cecconoid is an arcade-style game developed by Thalamus Digital studio, available for Android devices at a price of $1.99. The game was originally released on the Steam platform and is now accessible on mobile devices. Among all the games available on the Android market, arcade games with a retro style are probably among the most saturated genres. As time passes and technology advances, creating these games has become easier, and nowadays, making such games is not a difficult task. All you need is a GameMaker Studio license and someone familiar with FamiTracker. Even if unfamiliar, one can easily learn from YouTube tutorials and find some retro sound effects on Freesound to create their first game. All these factors have led to many games being categorized as “arcade,” “indie,” and “retro,” many of which do not even meet the minimum standards. This does not mean these categories lack potential for good games, but a good game is made when developers are willing to invest time and effort.

Cecconoid

Fortunately, Cecconoid is by no means an ordinary game, and the developers have managed to deliver a distinctive game with modern yet classic gameplay. The story takes place in the distant future, on April 15, 2088, when the Equinox space station is attacked by Stormlord and his mercenary robots called Exolons. Now, all hope rests on you. You must pilot your spacecraft, named Samurai-1, to battle the enemies, eliminate them all, and save the space station from destruction. However, this path is very dangerous, and you must be careful not to lose all three of your lives. Despite the obstacles and various enemies, there are many special support forces in the game that you can collect to increase your power and improve your chances of success. The game features over 50 rooms, each with unique challenges, promising a great experience. The touch controls are very simple, and the game also supports connection to physical Bluetooth controllers. As mentioned earlier, the game’s graphics have a retro style, presented in 8-bit pixel art. The sound design is well done and fits the game’s atmosphere. The DroidCove team intends to provide the final purchased version of Cecconoid as a tested and free download for you. At the end of this article, you can download the game from our servers and enjoy it!
